Modern Day Fairytale at Vaughan Greenhouse

One of my best memories of childhood is my mom reading fairytales to us – we had a big blue hardback book called The Fairytale Treasury (which I still own) and I heard every single story many, many times. Most of them are Grimm’s fairy tales and looking back they are actually terrifying! But, I still loved Cinderella, Snow White, Red Riding Hood, and even Hansel and Gretel. (I banned the Little Match Girl after hearing it once or twice.)

When I found out that I was going to be in southern VA the same time that Vaughan Greenhouse had scheduled an “emerald green and white” theme photo shoot at their greenhouse I made plans to go. I had never been to a formal styled shoot and this one wayyy exceeded my expectations! When I arrived every detail looked like it was straight out of a (modern-day) fairytale – a combination of Snow White and Sleeping Beauty – complete with countless ferns, a moss bed wrapped in lush greenery, and a spectacular Reclamation dress, all in a gorgeous forest setting. It was so awesome to participate in a creative project just for fun!
