So many families and couples have made plans to meet me in Shenandoah National Park next month for their annual photos and I couldn’t be happier! I’ve got all the best locations and times covered, all you have to do is show up for your adventure. The people who contact me have usually seen my work and are looking for a natural, unposed gallery that tells a story – one that captures all the moments and details of where they are at this time in their lives. Jonathan & Maguire met while volunteering in the Peace Corps in Sierra Leone. Their villages were 6 hours apart but they were able to see each other once a month. They are both currently in grad school in DC and wanted, in Maguire’s words, “an aspect of our wedding that was just between the two of us.” They decided to exchange their vows on a mountaintop in Shenandoah National Park, and I was so excited when Jonathan asked me if I could meet them there and document their ceremony. Natalie and I had the best time taking her senior photos – when we arrived at the location there were so many people celebrating prom and college graduations! I was excited to see everyone out on a beautiful spring evening, laughing and taking photos! Here are a few from our session – congrats Natalie!!
Sky Meadows State Park was the perfect location for Karen and Larry’s session – they love hiking and the outdoors, and that’s where they got engaged last year! The day they chose turned out to be VERY special because it was not only Karen’s birthday, but they were closing on their first home that afternoon!! Karen told me a couple of weeks before our session that they had just gotten married in Old Town, and in her words, “It was a small, simple and beautiful day. We felt so grateful.” They then spent a weekend in a cabin in Sapphire,
Hello, I’m Sarah! Nothing would make me happier than documenting your family in my Old Town Alexandria studio or in one of the many gorgeous locations in northern VA or Washington, DC.
