10 May Late Spring Golden Hour
I’ve been a freelance graphic design consultant for 19 years, with the exception of 2 years when I worked in the art department at Washington Navy Yard in DC. When I was hired, Jessa was also a graphic designer in that department and was very close to going on maternity leave with her 2ndchild. Our work environment during those 2 years was far from normal because of the events that took place on September 16, 2013, but during that time I formed some lasting friendships. Jessa is one of those friends who I was so lucky to get to know from having that job for such a short time.
She is a mom, stepmom, creative soul, and loves all things design-related. We have a very similar design aesthetic and I always look forward to seeing her Instagram posts (check out her feed @ourlovelycolonial), especially when she posts little videos of her daughters and the funny things they do. It just makes my day brighter to see them doing simple things like sitting at the kitchen table doing crafts or dancing around the living room! When I offered Mother’s Day photos I was so excited that Jessa wanted to schedule one of the sessions, and I knew I wanted to capture some moments showing off their unique personalities. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect spring day and warm golden sunshine! She styled the clothes herself and the colors and patterns all photographed beautifully! Thank you Jessa for allowing me to capture some of these moments in time for you and your two adorable girls.
